# Updates in 1.2.0

Version 1.2 was released in September 2026.

### AI Crop

**Features**

- **Film Mode.** Our first ever model for cropping slides, negatives, and sheet film, including when left in sleeve or sheet storage. It should work well on a variety of film, but please [Sharing Images with DT](docId\:Dld0G2R4pet7MuZ8QH-7i) of failures so we can improve it further.
- **Smarter 1-Up selection.** When several objects are detected, 1-Up mode now weighs position, shape, and detection confidence to pick the intended page, handles pages that overhang the spine, and shows wider gutters in the preview.
- **More precise cropping.** Reflective crops are now \~30% more precise for well-detected objects.

**Bug Fixes**

- **Rotated variants crop correctly after a reset.** Canvas dimensions are refreshed per variant, fixing misplaced crops on rotated images.
- **Color Tags** were sometimes failing for the success cases and now work correctly.
- **Capture One 16.8** and higher were producing slightly wrong AI Crop results due to COS version migration. These versions are now fully supported.

### Color Negative Inversion Calibration

**Features**

- **Faster calibration start.** The seeding step captures in a burst and waits out slow camera acknowledgments instead of failing, so calibrations get underway faster and stall less. Calibrations take fewer total captures on average, and work with a wider range of emulsions.
- **Per-camera starting point.** The calibration's crosstalk starting matrix is now stored per camera model and recalled when that camera is connected again, improving robustness on difficult starts where the seed captures clip.
- **DT NTPT. **This target saw a physical layout change in 2026 for serial numbers after TP26009. That new layout is now supported.

**Bug Fixes**

- **LCC exposure stepping is now computed in linear light.** The LCC exposure loop was stepping by gamma-encoded readout ratios; it now linearizes readouts first, so exposure converges correctly — faster auto LCC calibration.
- The calibration wizard shuts down cleanly when closed mid-capture; a cancelled or torn-down run no longer leaves the camera or lights in a stuck state.
- **Three Target Layout. **Advanced users may use three targets in the frame at one time to deep dive on profile creation or profile evaluation. Previously three targets were technically supported but the layout of the output was poor. This has been addressed.

### Calibration, Profiling, and Fusion

Features

- **Token-based profile naming.** Profile names are built from a fixed camera prefix plus an editable token template, with a guard against silently overwriting an existing profile.
- **OECF.** The tone curve shown by ImageZebra and GoldenThread, now available in our analysis. Getty's request.
- **Validation results polish.** If using two targets its easier and clearer which target you are viewing the charts for.
- **Faster SFR validation.** The slanted-edge (ESF) projection is 10–20× faster, with accompanying correctness fixes to SFR and validation math.
- **CIE Lab output.** Fusion can now write CIELAB TIFF derivatives, alongside new linear (scene-referred) debug outputs for diagnostics.

Bug Fixes

- The profiled preview no longer renders dark in the wizard viewer when using Fusion.

### AppleScript Control

**Features**

- **Nexus is now scriptable.** A new AppleScript dictionary (visible in Script Editor) exposes app and stage state, stage switching, capture, run crop, convert, reading and setting crop settings, quick actions, and full Stellar light control — power, intensity, presets, and per-channel R/G/B. Commands respect the same feature licensing as the UI. View the full list of supported commands by opening Apple's Script Editor and opening the DT Nexus Dictionary.

### Sequencer

**Features**

- **Validation action.** Validation can now be added directly to a sequence, saving a PDF of the results.
- **Run Python Script action.** Python scripts can now run at any point in a sequence, enabling custom workflow logic.

### Keyboard Shortcuts

Features

- **Editable shortcuts.** Some shortcuts can now be edited and saved as presets from a new dialog; reserved system keys are enforced, and key matching follows the active keyboard layout, so shortcuts work on international layouts.

### DT Stellar

**Features**

- **Faster, more reliable light response.** Together with the latest DT Stellar firmware, Nexus makes lights more responsive and eliminates several rare causes of stalled or failed triggers. If you still see related messages—even rarely— please contact DT Support so we can investigate.
- **Numbered light-group shortcuts.** Option-Shift-1 through Option-Shift-9 toggle Stellar light groups by their display order; the bindings are customizable and listed in the shortcut reference. Requested by MOMA.

**Bug Fixes**

- **Light Control recovers from a stale broker.** The embedded light-control broker now starts lazily and resiliently, and an orphaned broker left behind by a previous session is detected and replaced instead of leaving Light Control unresponsive.
- Fixed caret ghosting in the light power editor.
- Light-control request failures are distinguished from disconnects.

### Licensing & Activation

**Features**

- **Licensing diagnostics.** The Account panel now shows licensing connection diagnostics and controls for testing the connection to the license service.

**Bug Fixes**

- **Better Compatibility with Corporate Firewalls.** Corporate networks that re-sign HTTPS traffic no longer block activation; Nexus falls back to a verified system-trust connection.
- Networks that block the account service are reported as blocked rather than as “no internet connection,” and existing access is preserved when activation routes are unreachable.
- Re-activating a machine that is already activated no longer displaces another seat.
- If releasing a license fails partway, the app keeps your Lite choice instead of forgetting it, and activation state is persisted fail-closed.

### Other

**Bug Fixes**

- **Fixed a crash on quit.** A race in the network interface monitor could abort the app during shutdown.
- **The window fits small screens.** The Companion window no longer extends past the bottom of the screen on small displays, and dialogs no longer compress their content at small sizes.
- **Metadata operations no longer hang.** The bundled exiftool helper is time-bounded and handles paths with unusual characters safely.
- **Capture triggers disabled** while no camera is connected.
- **Sequencer recovery** handles invalid presets and group lockups, and drag reordering was hardened.
- **Temporary files** left behind by a crashed run are cleaned up at the next launch.
- **Numerous stability fixes** across capture, Capture One integration, and hardware control reported from the 1.1 cycle.
- **Camera Connectivity. **Fixed an issue where a camera disconnection in C1 would not immediately show up in Nexus.

# Updates in 1.1.0

Version 1.1 was released in July 2026.

### AI Crop

**Features**

- **Output sort order.** A new Sort Order control sets how detected crops are ordered and numbered — left-to-right, right-to-left, or grid (row by row).

**Bug Fixes**

- **Export no longer times out on bracketed names.** Folders or images whose names contain \[ ] \* ? now export correctly.

### Calibration & Profiling

**Features**

- **Clearer Flat Fielding.** The Flat Fielding step now spells out the difference between skipping and using the selected image.
- **ICC filename preview.** The profile builder previews the .icc filename as you type the addendum.

### Color Negative Inversion Calibration

**Features**

- **Faster, more precise, more robust calibration.** Substantial robustness and accuracy improvements driven by field testing across a wider variety of film stocks — most users will see calibrations complete faster and succeed on stocks that previously failed. Owed to a matrix pre-calculation (the primary color sequence at the start of calibration) and continuous learning, which updates the spectral model in real time on each capture.
- **Selectable calibration ISO.** *Preferences → Color Neg → Calibration Wizard* now offers 50/100/200/400 (default 50). The chosen ISO is pinned during calibration and saved into each calibration, so recalling one restores its ISO on the camera. Helpful in vibration-prone environments where slower shutter speeds can cost image detail.
- **Per-calibration white balance.** *Update WB of selected calibration* in the dock's "…" menu stores the current Capture One white balance (Kelvin and tint) into the selected calibration, applied automatically on subsequent Color Negative captures. Existing calibrations load at 5500K with no tint.

**Bug Fixes**

- **Other lights are forced off during RGB calibration.** A Stellar Mark II, XL, or Standard Fusion light connected alongside the Stellar RGBWIR was leaking broadband output through the orange film mask as a red bias. Stellar RGB mode now zeroes those lights so only the RGBWIR illuminates the film.

### Presets

**Features**

- **Unified import / export.** Importing, exporting, and deleting presets now work the same way across every preset type.

**Bug Fixes**

- Rejecting an imported sequence preset now removes it from disk; sequencer import, file reveal, and tooltip localization were hardened.

### DT Stellar

**Features**

- **Zero power.** The light-group slider can now be set to 0 / OFF.
- **Optocoupler Power option.** A new *Optocoupler Power* submenu under Light Control switches the 3.5mm contact-closure jack's power source between Internal and External on compatible Stellar fixtures. Used when DT Stellar family lights (firmware 2.1.2+, on a hardware revision confirmed to support it) trigger flash with an iXG or iXH camera in stand-alone mode. More information.

**Bug Fixes**

- Added tooltips to the light-group header buttons.
- **Firmware update progress no longer hangs on offline lights.** A light going offline at the moment of a Stellar firmware update could leave the progress dialog open indefinitely. Nexus now tracks only the currently-connected lights when determining an update has finished.

### Other

**Bug Fixes**

- License-upgrade wording is now consistent across feature gates.
- Quieted several low-risk error-handling issues reported from 1.0.
