Cleaning the ANR Glass
To ensure optimum performance, the ANR glass is cleanable by the end user. We recommend the following procedure be followed to ensure the maximum useful life from your glass carrier.
ANR coatings are soft and can be easily scratched. Clean film using an ionized and filtered air source before placing it on the carrier to reduce the chance of hard debris such as sand from remaining on the film when you place it on the glass, which would scratch the coating. Avoid dragging film across the glass surface to prevent scratching the coating.
Cleaning Materials:
- A brand new lint-free cloth, such as a KimTech wipe.
- An air blower.
- A 3:1 mix of isopropyl alcohol and distilled water placed in a spray bottle. For removing heavy fingerprint build up, use an optical lens cleaner.
Cleaning Process:
Blow loose dust off the glass surfaces using a rocket blower or ionized filtered air compressor.
If smudges or stubborn dust remain, use a streak-free lens cleaning solution and a new low-lint wipe (we recommend KimTech) to gently wipe away the smudge. DT recommends a 3:1 mix of distilled water and 99% Isopropyl Alcohol.
Do not scrub at the glass. Avoid reusing cleaning cloths, as microfiber cloths can trap dust and cause scratching of the coatings.
Always handle the ANR carrier by the metal or plastic edges to minimize fingerprints on the glass.
