Exchanging Stellar Diffusion Panels
Stellar MkII ships with one diffusion panel, but two are available: CrystalClear and ProDiffuser. The CrystalClear diffusion panel is built of micro-prismatic lenses for greater light transmission. This is ideal for large works of art or when the lights are placed at a distance.
For transmissive digitization workflows and in most other instances, when working in close proximity to the object, the ProDiffusion panel is recommended, as it fully blends the specularity of the LED panel, producing a smooth, even light source.
The bezel is designed to allow a thin gel or polarizing filter to be placed in front of either diffuser, held flat. Alternatively, the bezels are magnetic (magnets not included) and can hold filters or gels in place. Note that for polarizing filters to work most effectively, they should be held flat, and so are better placed inside the bezel than magnetically attached to it.
Steps
Loosen the thumb screw to release the panel.
Slide the diffusion panel out and replace it. When removing the panel, it may be necessary to loosen the bezel thumb locks to release the panel.
Close the panel and tighten the Accessory Panel Thumb Screw.
