Stellar Control Modes: DT Nexus and Standalone
Stellar MkII and Stellar XL have the ability to switch between computer-driven workflows and standalone manual control. In computer control mode, Stellars are controlled from a computer integrating advanced tools and workflows. Standalone mode offers flash and continuous lighting control from the built-in Control Dial.
DT Nexus Mode
In DT Nexus mode, all settings are controlled from the computer for a fully software-based workflow. Any lighting setup can be managed with limitless light groupings and 1/100th-stop precision. In-situ color profiling with Fusion mode delivers an unrivaled level of color accuracy. This is most suitable for use in a copy stand or digitization station environment.
If needed, a light can be disconnected from the rest of the system to function in Standalone mode.

Standalone Mode
Standalone mode is fully controlled with the Control Dial and Indicator Ring. No computer is required. Connecting multiple lights together via Ethernet (Cat-5 or higher), allows settings to be shared across all lights, with the exception of Offset Power. Offset Power enables asymmetrical power settings while keeping all connected lights synchronized within a 2-stop range (4:1 ratio) with 1/24th-stop light control. Standalone Mode is suitable for users who do not use DT Nexus or have simple lighting requirements.
